Informa Updates U.S. Production Pegs

Sources familiar with Informa Economics say the firm has updated its U.S. crop production forecasts. On Wednesday, July 11, USDA will release its first survey-based spring wheat forecast and could alter corn, soybean and cotton yields based on weather trends and crop condition ratings.

  • Corn: Informa reportedly pegs the crop at 13.641 billion bu. with a yield of 153.5 bu. per acre.
  • Soybeans: Informa reportedly pegs the crop at 3.161 billion bu. with a yield of 42.0 bu. per acre.
  • Cotton: Informa reportedly pegs the crop at 18.535 million bales, with a yield of 823 lbs. per acre.
  • All wheat: Informa reportedly pegs the crop at 2.287 billion bu., with a yield of 46.8 bu. per acre.
  • Spring wheat: Informa reportedly pegs the crop at 500 million bu., with a yield of 42.8 bu. per acre.
