Nutrient pricing remains generally steady across the Midwest with increases in anhydrous and urea and a slight addition in farm diesel. Gains had the upper hand adding $7.91 while declines totaled $4.03 for a margin of $3.88 in favor of upward movement.

With the late start, questions are beginning to arise as to whether fall anhydrous bookings will make it to the field, or if growers will opt to get seed in the ground while the sun shines, and adjust nitrogen after.

I traveled across western Iowa Friday to Omaha, Nebraska and despite having sunshine all the way, no iron was in the field the whole way. Activity picked up a little on Saturday and by Sunday, field activity had gained some real momentum. A hot, sunny day is forecast here in Omaha, and some great planting progress is expected this week.
