Introducing the Ultimate Farm Truck

Anything that's "ultimate" better be able to handle any job you ask it to do–and the "bad boy" Ultimate Farm Truck can do just that.

Under the hood power with clean burning diesel or B–5 Biodiesel
What makes this truck the ultimate? First and foremost – power. Equipped with the 6.7–liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, this truck has power that leaves the most power–hungry operators satisfied. The Cummins inline–6, liquid–cooled, turbo–charged, 409–cubic–inch power train delivers 305 hp at 2,900 rpm. The torque on this workhorse is incredible – 610 lb.–ft. comes at an ultra low 1,600 rpm.

The ultra–clean diesel system on this truck includes a high–capacity exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system that recirculates a portion of the exhaust through the combustion process, resulting in a more complete fuel burn, cooler operation and lower emissions. The system also includes a diesel oxidation catalyst, particulate filter and nitrogen oxide (NOx) storing catalyst for the ultimate combination of power and clean operation.

The diesel system is compatible with farmer–friendly B–5 biodiesel. The bio–mix helps further reduce particulate and NOx emissions.

Ultimate Payload Allowance and Hauling Package
The 50,000–psi rated steel frame provides ultimate payload allowance. The maximum Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 16,500 lb. is thanks to the frame, rear leaf springs, solid–beam front and rear axles (7,000 front axle; 12,000–lb. rear axle), a five–link coilspring front suspension with beam axle and front and rear link–type sway bar. It really is a hauling package for an ultimate farm truck.

Anti–lock 4–wheel breaking system
Once you get the load moving, anti–lock four–wheel disc brakes get it stopped. At 390 mm, the front–brake rotor is the largest among conventional Class 4 chassis cabs, and the standard diesel exhaust brake system extends brake life. It's a safe, reliable braking system.

6 speed automatic transmission
Put it all in motion with an AISIN six–speed automatic transmission. This transmission has no problem sending power to the after–market chrome wheels with oversized tires (225/70R19.5F). On the low–end, a conventional differential front axle and available anti–spin differential rear axle send the engine's torque to the load. On the road, you've got to watch the tachometer to "feel" this transmission smoothly run through its six gears.

Interior
The regular cab gives you plenty of space with a storage bin that's easy to get to behind the 40/20/40 split bench seat. Stain– and odor–resistant cloth seats and a black vinyl floor make cleanup easy, and sixway power seat adjustments add comfort. Throw in standard options (air conditioning, cruise control, etc.) and this is way more than a standard farm truck. Just to make it cool, the tilt steering wheel is wrapped in leather.

Factory Upfits
Some of the optional equipment on the Ultimate Farm Truck was installed at the factory–trailer brake controller harness and fog lamps up front are quick factory "upfits." The truck is prepped with the heavy–duty snow plow prep group and ready for a power take–off (PTO) upfit. The electronic on–the–fly transfer case is protected by a skid–plate, and the system has been upgraded with a 160–amp alternator.

Other Ultimate Farm Truck Essentials
After–factory upfits include wide towing mirrors, rear and front hitches and running boards. Why a front hitch? It makes it easy to attach the heavy–duty, hitch–mounting winch where you need it.

You can carry a lot of your shop in two DeeZee aluminum diamond plate toolboxes mounted under the bed to keep them out of the way. As a result, you can take fulladvantage of the marquee upfit–the custom aluminum diamond plate flatbed. You know this is a tough truck body…this workhorse can handle loads that would leave a regular truck bed battered and bruised. It's a pricey upfit, but the ease of handling bulk seed and chemical containers with a truck body like this made the flatbed irresistible! It also has an under–flap, hidden fifth–wheel hitch in the center of the bed.

And there's more…like the 52–gal. fuel tank and DeeZee behind–cab aluminum diamond plate transfer diesel fuel tank. This lineup of standard and optional equipment work in unison to make this Dodge Ram 4500 the Ultimate Farm Truck.
