Nelson Irrigation’s new 3NV multi-function nozzle allows farmers to manage pivots in new ways. They can push and turn the nozzle to on, off, nozzle flush and line flush positions.
A side inlet allows for easy installation and re-nozzling. The off option can serve as a shut-off valve to help manage and conserve water. It has nozzle flush and line flush positions for simple cleaning.
The rotating dial has a stainless steel spring for accurate and secure positioning and an audible click when it locks in place.
The 3NV fits all types of Nelson sprinklers. For more information, visit www.nelsonirrigation.com.
Protect Nitrogen Supplies
The Irrigation Research Foundation (IRF) has confirmed corn yield boosts of more than 10 bu. per acre with application of NutriSphere-N via center pivots.
NutriSphere-N maintains applied nitrogen for uptake, even under tough field and moisture conditions, says Charles Corey, executive director of IRF. Untreated corn, he notes, fared worse under varying conditions—excessive rainfall, low-water application and environmental stresses—during three years of field trials in Yuma, Colo. Corey reports an average 10- to 12-bu.-per-acre difference, with upward of 15 bu. per acre in particular spots.
“The biggest takeaway from these trials is you want to make sure you are getting the most value for the money you spend on nitrogen,” Corey says. “I think NutriSphere-N—based on our research results—definitely adds value.”
NutriSphere-N, produced by Verdesian Life Sciences, employs polymer technology to keep more nitrogen available by slowing loss through volatilization, leaching and denitrification. Verdesian says NutriSphere-N protects nitrogen for 10 to 12 months.
