Valley Offers New Smart Panel Line

none

Valley Irrigation’s series of smart panels allow farmers to remotely monitor their center pivots, start and stop pivots, program variable-rate functions and set end gun patterns. The four ICON smart panels are designed to be easier to use than the Valley Pro2 panel and expand use of the company’s AgSense and BaseStation3 features.

The ICON10 panel, equipped with a 10" display, works similar to a tablet but it’s right at the pivot point. It provides all of the features of the current Pro2 control panel but has more memory and speed. The ICON10 panel works with Valley Variable Rate Irrigation (VRI) Speed Control and VRI Zone Control programs. The panel includes Edge-of-Field WiFi, which allows a user to access and adjust the control panel with a mobile device as long as he is in line of sight of the panel’s antenna. Retail price: $5,680.

The Valley ICON5 panel features many of the same benefits as the ICON10 but includes a smaller 5" display with soft touch buttons. Retail price: $4,720.

The ICON1 doesn’t have a touchscreen display; instead a farmer uses an app on his mobile device as the interface and connects it remotely via the internet or using Edge-of-Field WiFi. Retail price: $4,280.

The ICONX has a 5" full-color touchscreen with soft touch buttons like the ICON5 but uses an existing control panel as a host to pass commands. It’s an affordable way to upgrade and put more pivots on one network. Retail price: $2,495.

Optional features include sensors to help monitor wind, rain and temperature and set pivot parameters. All of the ICON panels are designed to be upgradable and adaptable to future innovations.

Max Systems Releases Water Purifier

none

Rainwater, which doesn’t have any total dissolved solids, or salts, is more beneficial for crops than typical irrigation water from wells, ponds, ditches, etc. University research also shows rainwater actually holds more oxygen, which it picks up as it falls to Earth. The Regulator 3.0 Concentrate, a pH balancing carbon surfactant from Max Systems LLC, makes nutrients more available to plants and improves the efficacy of chemicals and fertilizer applied through a pivot. Because it is a concentrate, a producer can apply as little as 8 oz. to 16 oz. per acre to attain the “return-to-rain” effects of Regulator 3.0. The low dosage means less stress and wear is added to the pivot stream and injection pump.

Milbank Adds Quick-Install Pedestal

none

Milbank Manufacturing’s line of irrigation pedestals are quick and easy to install. Because the pedestal is pre-wired, the installer drops in the pedestal using the pre-installed lifting eyes, hooks the wires onto the lug landings and runs the wires out from the motor starter. The motor starter and disconnect are in a lockable enclosure. The pedestal includes two extra knockouts for mounting more push buttons as well as 20 to 30 amp or 3-pole 480V class CC fuses so operators can add remote-control technology.
