Is USDA Too Close to HSUS?

Pork Act and National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) Delegates were fired up at the 2016 Pork Forum, banding together to send a message to USDA, Secretary Tom Vilsack and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).

In a unanimous vote, an advisement, which was cosponsored by each of the 46 states represented by the Pork Act body, aims to pressure Vilsack into exhausting all legal options against a lawsuit filed by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to defend the 2006 sale of assets, including the popular “Pork. The Other White Meat” slogan from the NPPC to the National Pork Board (Pork Board).

A similar advisement was also passed by NPPC delegates.
