It is now officially President Barack Obama. With his taking the oath of office in Washington, DC, Obama has become the 44th President of the United States.

Some interesting facts relative to inauguration day include:

1937 - The year the inauguration switched from March 4 to Jan. 20.

135 - Least number of words in an inaugural address. Delivered by George Washington in 1793.

8,445 - Most number of words in an inaugural address. Delivered by William Henry Harrison in 1841. He died of pneumonia one month later, thought to have been brought on by prolonged exposure to bad weather at his inauguration.

1801 - First inauguration held in Washington, DC.

1949 - First televised inaugural ceremony. Harry S. Truman.

1925 - First inaugural ceremony broadcast nationally via radio. Calvin Coolidge

1960 - Last time a sitting U.S. Senator was elected president - John F. Kennedy.
