John Deere Adds Maintenance App to its Lineup

May 19, 2016 02:12 PM

John Deere has so many mobile apps that one of them – John Deere App Center – exists solely to help farmers find the machinery company’s other apps. Its latest app offering proposes to help farmers more easily make preventative maintenance and repairs to their farm equipment.

The MyMaintenance app allows users to set up maintence intervals by either calendar date or machine hours easily from their mobile devices, according to Paul Garcia, product manager of John Deere WorkSight.

"The MyMaintenance app gives users a plethora of information at their fingertips, including the ability to view equipment on a map, look at machines nearby, barcode scan a machine to see maintenance plans, access a parts list for maintenance and the ability to keep track of maintenance costs," he says.

Garcia says the app also allows for repair documentation, which can help drive residual farm equipment value.

The MyMaintenance app is free to download on iPhone and Android devices but works exclusively for John Deere equipment with active JDLink telematics subscriptions.
