John Phipps: The Week in Review

July 23, 2010 02:27 PM

Flashback from Incoming by John Phipps

The most significant post of the week was a few details about my experience at the "Respect the Rotation" event in Memphis.  I learned two things: 1) wide-brimmed farm hats are a really good idea and 2) if you think you will escape facing glyphosate resistant weeds you need to retire pronto.  In fact, since coming back, reports of resistant weeds are everywhere.  Maybe the market is pricing glyphosate right after all.

But another experience this week - pricing farm mortgages - was an epiphany as well, and I decided to bide my time for a few months, anyway.  See if your interest rate outlook comes anywhere close to mine.

On other fronts, there were startling "mummy" portraits, something joust for fun, and and a particularly diverse Junkbox.
