To expand and complement its hay and forage products, Kuhn North American announces the acquisition of the crop packaging division of Kverneland Group. The acquisition will expand Kuhn North America's product lineup, manufacturing capacity and distribution network.

This business transaction includes Kverneland Group's factory located in Geldrop, Netherlands, which specializes in the design and manufacturing of fixed- and variable-chamber round balers, big square balers, bale wrappers, rotary drum mowers, tedder-rakes and corn choppers. Kuhn North America previously specialized in spreaders, mixers, hay tools and tillage tools. The addition of the new product lines includes the range of balers, bale wrappers and drum mowers.

The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2009. There will be a transition period of up to two years, during which these products will be simultaneously sold under the Kuhn brand name and also through the Kverneland network.
