A May 4 auction in Fairfield, Iowa, saw 81 acres bring $10,000 an acre. The land was part of a 162-acre offering, which was located about seven miles north of Fairfield, which is in Jefferson County. The 81-acre tract offered 80 tillable acres and featured a CSR2 of 81.7. That compares to the county average cropland CSR2 of 61.4. The second 81-acre tract sold for $8,000 an acre. It had 76 tillable acres and possessed a cropland CSR2 of 76.4.

The same person bought both tracts.
