Land Sale of the Week: $11,125/acres in North-Central Iowa

A private listing in Mitchell County, Iowa, sold recently for $11,125 per acre. The 90-acre farm was located one mile north of Osage, had 89.5 tillable acres and offered an outstanding CRS2 of 97.8. The county-average CSR2 is 81.5.

Handling the sale was Corey Prins, AFM, Northwestern Farm Management Co., Marshall, Minn., 507-532-5120. "An appraiser in that area said he hasn't seen an $11,000 sale since 2013." Prins tells us.

  Here is a little food for thought on this whole land thing, there is between 500 to 600 million acres of farm and pasture land in the United States. If you sold all of that land for $10,000.00 per acre it would generate 5 to 6 trillion dollars. There is 65 trillion in public and private debt in the U.S.A. , $200,000.00 for man, women, and child in the U.S.A now that's scarry.
