Land Sale of the Week: $11,574/a in South Central Illinois

Tuesday, Feb. 16, saw the auction of 242 acres in northern Shelby Co., Ill., bring $11,574 an acre. The farm property was located 15 miles north of Shelbyville and 15 miles south of Decatur. The property was offered as three tracts with two 81-acre tracts contiguous. The third tract was four miles northeast of the other two.

The farm offered quality soils with an average soil Productivity Index of 143.6 per Bulletin 811. Maximum rating per Bulletin 811 is 147. The three tracts sold as one unit.
