A late January auction in western Kansas found prices holding relatively steady for dryland cropland. The auction occurred Jan. 29 and featured 480 dryland acres southeast of Tribune in Greeley County. The farm contained 469 acres of cropland. Some 234 acres were seeded to wheat. The seller retained the landlord's one-third share of any income associated with the 2014 crop year. Mineral rights were believed to be intact and transferred 100% to the buyer.
The property was offered in three tracts of 160 each but were purchased as a single unit for $1,892 an acre.
Travis Weaver of Farm & Ranch Realty Inc., Colby, 800-247-7863, handled the auction.
