Eastern Nebraska saw strong demand for high-quality dryland cropland at an auction held July 19. The land offered was located southeast of Wayne, Neb., in Wayne County. The area is a strong crops and livestock area.
The soils involved were rated 71.7 on the state's SRPG rating system called Soil Rating for Plant Growth. Perfect is a rating of 100 with ratings above 75 seldom ever seen.
The ground was gently sloping and improved with tile, grid sampling, a recent application of lime. Possession would begin after the harvest of the 2015 crop.
The final sale price was $7,500 an acre.
