Mike Walsten

An auction of 158 acres just south of White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Mich., saw strong bidding for the whole farm. The ground was offered in three tracts, including the farmstead with the exception of two grain bins. The bins were offered separately but wound up being purchased as part of the entire unit. The farm featured 146 tillable acres. Also included was am eight-tower center pivot irrigation rig, a four-tower rig and a corner rig. The auction occurred February 19.

The entire farm plus bins, farmstead and irrigation equipment sold for $1,450,000 or about $9,177 an acre. Ed Boyer, Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, Inc., Union, Mich., handled the sale 574-215-7653.
