Farmers are still willing to bid up for quality farmland, as evidenced by the Aug. 21 auction of 94 acres of level cropland offered in north central Indiana. The farm was located just south of Groomsville, southwest of Kokomo, in Tipton County. It carried a corn productivity index rating of 163.4 and was offered in two tracts. There were about 88 tillable acres on the farm with 3.7 acres in CRP.

The farm sold as one unit for $12,000 an acre, of a total of $1,128,000.

John Miner of Greentown and Ken Ziegler of Tipton, both with Halderman Real Estate Services, handled the auction.
