Lessons on Lime Applications

This presentation at Corn College helps farmers sift out the secrets to making successful lime applications.

Not all lime is created equal, and farmers can benefit from knowing how to evaluate the quality of the lime they purchase, says Bill Bauer, agronomic consultant and owner of B&M Crop Consulting, Coldwater, Mich.

He says the two elements contributing to good lime applications are quality of product and fineness of product. Both can differ substantially between quarries, he notes.
