Listen and learn more on rotational grazing systems

April 5, 2009 07:00 PM

Jim Gerrish, owner of American Grazing Lands Services LLC in May, Idaho, recently spoke to producers in Iowa on the benefits the rotational grazing programs. Gerrish describes how producers can take advantage of a rotational grazing system.

  1. First have to realize there is a benefit.
  2. Start building electric fencing to split pastures up and begin managing grazing more intently.
  3. Then build into something more aggressive. Don't try to have the perfect system in one year, it usually takes several years to develop an intensive grazing system.
