Kenny Bennett, the longtime farm manager and business partner at the L&M Family of Cos., has died.
Bennett died Sept. 17; he was 65.
“Kenny is remembered by L&M as a person who always had a smile for everyone, a quick wit that could light up any room and a passion for life that was contagious,” according to a statement from the company. “He is also remembered for his many fun pranks, his compassionate friendship and his tireless dedication to the farm.”
Bennett starting farming in Moultrie in 1969, dedicating his life to growing vegetables, according to the statement. He began farming for L&M in the early 1990s.
“Kenny was kind and generous to everyone he met, and if you met him once, he’d call you a friend,” Adam Lytch, operations manager for L&M Farms, said in the statement.
In this holiday season, L&M is also thankful for the many family members left behind,” according to the statement. “Farming runs deep in Kenny’s family and he has many family members left to follow in his footsteps on the farm.”

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Barber Bennett; a son, Brett Bennett and wife Jennifer; daughter, Becky Bennett Clifford and husband Tom.
