Machinery Pete: Pricey Trends in Antique Tractors at Auction

June 14, 2017 10:28 AM

Some tractors are for work, and others are for show.

According to Machinery Pete, auction values for antique tractors—tractors he says were manufactured between the 1930s and 1950s—have been flat.

He’s noticed the number of auctions that feature those pieces of machinery has been on the increase, and larger, rare tractors are garnering some interest and a lot of cash.

At an auction in Iowa earlier this month, Machinery Pete witnessed a record-high price for a 1964 John Deere 8020 that shattered the previous record nearly seven years ago.

Find out the price on that tractor and another record on an International 7488 on AgDay above.
