Front-Boom Addition

Joining the New Holland Guardian line of self-propelled sprayers is the SP333F, a front-boom model with 333 hp. The lineup now features four front-boom and two rear-boom models ranging from 240 hp to 365 hp. The SP333F features a four-wheel hydrostatic drive and a 15' turning radius for easy maneuvering in tight spaces and at the headlands. It can be fitted with a 1,200-, 1,400- or 1,600-gal. tank and 90'-, 100'- or 120'-wide booms. The machine features a balanced 50/50 weight distribution, which maximizes traction and minimizes compaction while maintaining 6' of ground clearance. A hydraulically controlled four-wheel independent suspension improves spraying accuracy and operator comfort. The placement of the boom provides straight-ahead visibility from the driver’s seat. Deluxe and luxury cab packages are available, and both cab packages are pre-wired for auto-guidance. Base price: $362,000. For more, visit

Double-Duty Disk Opener

2013 10 DawnEquip Cfx

Dawn Equipment’s Cfx fertilizer opener is built with a double-disk design that angles the primary disk to open a furrow, while the smaller secondary disk runs in the direction of travel and holds the furrow open. The disks are supported from one side by a concentric roller bearing arrangement. A gauge/wiper wheel is located on the primary disk for basic operation. Fertilizer is applied in the space between the disks, eliminating the need for a fertilizer boot. The Dawn Cfx is the first fertilizer opener to incorporate hydraulic down pressure. An electronic ground-hardness sensor mounts directly to the Cfx, adding real-time control of the fertilizer opener, as well as the Dawn Gfx row cleaners and Dawn Rfx hydraulic planter row unit down pressure. Approximate price per row: $1,500. For more, visit

Strong Blades, Secure Seeds

4a Exapta Drill Opener Blade4b Exapta Mojo Drill Keeton

Two products from Exapta Solutions Inc. are intended to improve the performance of grain drills. Sharper, stronger blades that reduce hairpinning are available for John Deere 50, 60 and 90 Series no-till drills. Each blade costs $36.23. The Mojo Wire Small, which applies consistent pressure directly to the seed in the bottom of the furrow, has been expanded to include all Keeton firmers on grain drills. Resulting pressure is two to five times more than that applied under normal conditions. Each Mojo Wire for two-piece Keeton models costs $7 and fits most double-disk drills. For more, visit

Beefed-Up Disk Harrows

1 Parker 1648 Tracked Grain Cart

Introducing multiple disk harrow models, Kuhn Krause has incorporated heavier walking beams, wheel rockers, hubs and spindles on many sizes of the 8210 and 8310 models, as well as bigger transport tires on the two largest machines. A larger 211 bearing is more durable, while the Rock-Flex bearing mount with a rubber-encased bearing has a long service life. The machines can be configured with 24/7 Harrows including three-row coil tine, three-bar spike, and round or flat bar conditioning reels. List price: 8210 Disk Harrow, 19’ to 44’: $39,000 to $93,000; 8310 Disc Harrow, 19’ to 37’: $43,000 to $83,000. For more, visit
