Primary Tool for Deep Tillage

Redesigned for its third generation, the Series 2310 Weatherproofer III tillage tool from Landoll Corporation is available in eight models ranging from 10' to 20' working widths. The 2310 lineup is built heavier and designed for less maintenance with a new-style frame built with 4"x8" steel tubing and maintenance-free bearings on rockshaft and disk gang pivot points. The Weatherproofer III features 1¾" shafts on the disk gangs, which feature 24" blades instead of the 22" blades on previous models. The front gangs can be adjusted from 18° to 14°. Auto-set parabolic shanks have a 16" working depth and are placed at 24" or 30" spacings. There are 7" wing points, shark fin points and V-cap points and 2" plain points available. The machine has single-point depth control. Price range: $32,000 to $56,000. For more, visit

Upgrades Inside and Out

The 2011 AS720, AS1020 and AS1220 Apache sprayers feature an all-new cab, chassis, product fill options and improved powertrain. The machines are outfitted with a four-point mounted cab with greater visibility and a 12% increase in floor space. The new Apaches are built with a rear-hinged door and larger catwalk. With the engine and exhaust moved farther from the operator, in-cab noise is reduced. HVAC adjustments have been placed in the steering column, and the electronics are CAN-ready. Customers can choose between a 120" fixed axle and an adjustable axle for widths between 120" and 160". Moving away from a tank skid design, a custom roto-mold tank is contoured to the chassis. The fill station features a more intuitive layout and an LED lighting system, and the rinse tank totals 100 gal. Equipment Technologies can factory install precision options from Raven Industries. While the AS720 and AS1020 models with 42" crop clearance can still be purchased with an ITL/JCB transmission, the AS1020 and AS1220 are introduced with the ZF transmission, which features a lock-up torque converter. Apache’s re-engineered drivetrain also increases fuel economy. For more information, visit

Heavy-duty Applicator

Case IH introduces the Nutri-Placer 940 anhydrous ammonia applicator, with application widths up to 65'. Also available with a 60' frame, the toolbar is built with a heavy-duty, five-section frame and has either 12 or 14 support wheels. The front hitch is Category 5, and the rear hitch has a tow capacity of up to 25,000 lb. The Nutri-Placer 940 comes standard with 30" centers but can be ordered with 15" centers. The 30" centers can accommodate 24 shanks with coulters on the 60' model and 26 shanks with coulters on the 65' model. The optional 15" centers can have 47 shanks without coulters on the 60' model and 51 shanks without coulters on the 65' model. The Nutri-Placer 940 has a High Clearance Shank option, designed for soils with rocks. The shank allows for adjustable holding pressure, maintaining depth with either 850 lb. or 1,250 lb. of trip force. When folded for transport, the Nutri-Placer 940 is 13'9" tall and 18'9" wide. It is compatible with dry bulk-fill systems for root-zone banding and variable-rate applications of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. Base price: $94,000 for the 60' model; $102,000 for the 65' model. For more information, visit
