Basis is slightly better than the three-year average, which is 2 1/2 cents over futures.
The national average soybean basis softened 1 1/4 cents from last week to stand 4 1/2 cents over January futures. The national average cash price firmed 54 1/4 cents from last week to $13.33 3/4.
Basis remains better than the three-year average, which is 1 3/4 cents below futures for this week.
The national average soft red winter (SRW) wheat basis firmed 1/2 cent from last week to 26 cents below December futures. The average cash price softened 1/4 cent to $6.20 1/2. The national average hard red winter (HRW) basis softened 1 cent from last week to 15 1/2 cents under December futures. The average cash price firmed 7 3/4 cents to $6.88 3/4.
Basis remains better than the three-year average for SRW and HRW. The three-year average SRW basis for this week is 18 3/4 cents under futures and 59 3/4 cents under futures for HRW.
Last week's cash cattle price averaged $130.55, down $1.04 from the previous week. Expectations are for steady to firmer cash cattle prices this week. Last year at this time, the cash price was $125.79.
Choice boxed beef prices firmed $2.08 from last week to $201.42. Last year at this time, Choice boxed beef prices were $195.73.
The average lean hog carcass bid dropped $2 over the past week to $80.83. Last year's lean carcass price on this date was $78.54.
Pork cutout values slipped 46 cents from last week to $88.67. Last year at this time, the average cutout price stood at $84.71.
