If included in final CR, would be way to deal with thorny sequester issues.
Senate Appropriations Chairwoman Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) today said Democrats will seek to add three separate appropriations bills, including Agriculture, to the continuing resolution (HR 933) passed by the House. Mikulski said the Homeland Security and Commerce, Justice and Science bills also would be included.
The three spending measures are the least controversial and any inclusion in the CR would provide agencies greater flexibility to cope with budget cuts under sequester -- including dealing with the sensitive issue of meat inspectors.
