CARPENTERSVILLE, Ill. – Milk Specialties Global Animal Nutrition recently introduced Energy Booster H, a second energy-dense, rumen-inert fat supplement in the Energy Booster family of products that helps dairy producers increase milk production and milk components, improve body condition, and enhance reproduction.
New Energy Booster H uses a patent-pending manufacturing process that increases the product's melting point to 170°F. This higher melting point improves handling in warm climates or direct sun conditions, in auger bins, and in pelleted feeds using added dry fat in the formulation.
"The ‘H' stands for ‘handling'; and university pelleting trials, conveyance evaluations in auger bins, and melt-point testing prove that Energy Booster H holds up to its improved-handling title,” says Doug Schomberg, vice president of sales and marketing for Milk Specialties Global Animal Nutrition.
Energy Booster H uses the same high-performance formula as Energy Booster 100 and provides a very high-energy value without affecting dry matter intake. It contains a minimum of 90% total fatty acids with very high levels of saturated free fatty acids, the form of energy cows metabolize most naturally.
"Both Energy Booster H and Energy Booster 100 are highly palatable and digestible,” adds Schomberg. "And since it is a rumen-inert fat, it does not undergo rumen biohydrogenation that can depress dry matter intake.”
