Ag Commissioner Welcomes Senator Klobuchar to Biofuels Tour
Leaders urge opposition to proposed EPA volume reductions

 

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is pleased to announce U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar will join the final stretch of a statewide tour to support the biofuels industry on Monday, January 20. Senator Klobuchar and Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson are urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reconsider its stance on the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The EPA's proposed 2014 reduction in RFS required volumes would result in an estimated $610 million dollars in losses and more than 1,500 jobs cut from the Minnesota economy and its workforce.*

Commissioner Frederickson, Senator Klobuchar, biofuel plant employees and local community leaders will show their support for the biofuels industry and rural economic vitality at the following locations:
