Missouri State FFA Convention Teaches Lessons

Swarms of blue corduroy jackets converge in Columbia, Mo. They are all over every restaurant, in the mall at ice cream shops. Why are they here? They want to meet people, learn something, compete on a state level, take home a blue ribbon. They are FFA members from all over the state of Missouri for the Missouri State FFA Convention on April 15 and 16, 2010.
Students participated in contests, received personal and chapter awards and proficiencies and socialized together. New officers were elected, band and choir members played and sang. I attended on Friday, April 16, 2010, and I interviewed four students about their experience at the state FFA convention. Listen how their expectations were met or exceeded, what they've learned and what they would say to younger FFA members.
