Montana and Kukje/Branson Explore Partnership

With the two companies signing on a line, Montana Tractors and Branson Tractors have signed a letter of intent for a potential joint venture or merger.

The potential joint venture aims for a more powerful player in the North American tractor market by consolidating distribution-based Montana and manufacturing-based Branson. The tentative outline for the business arrangement includes: Montana will manage the operations, sales/marketing and distribution in the US and DK Steel/Kukje Machinery Company the engineering, manufacturing and design of high-specification, high-quality tractors.

Kukje Machinery is an affiliate company of Donkuk Steel Mill, a steel products manufacturing group in South Korea. It manufactures tractors, combines, rice transplanters and diesel engines. Kukje Machinery is distributes its 21 hp to 65 hp tractors in North America through its wholly owned US subsidiary, Branson Tractors, with more than 210 dealer networks.

Montana Tractors is a privately- held corporation, located in Springdale, Ark. and distributes compact and utility tractors throughout its dealer base in North America. Its line of compact and utility tractors range from 23 hp to 90 hp. Montana Tractors currently employs approximately 70 personnel with locations in Arkansas and North Carolina, as well as holds a distribution network of more than 250 dealers in North America.
