Naturipe Farms is seeing peak supplies of strawberries from California.

May is National Strawberry Month, and the berry company reports that volumes will remain strong through summer and into fall.

“We are excited to be Celebrating with record production for the month of May,” Vinnie Lopes, Naturipe vice president of sales-West Coast, said in a news release. “Santa Maria is looking strong and Watsonville is here with a bountiful supply available now and expecting to thrive through mid-fall.”

CarrieAnn Arias, vice president of marketing, suggested retailers offer samples, build large displays and promote large pack sizes to take advantage of the high supplies and demand.

Organic strawberry demand is growing, Lopes said, with weekly promotable volumes available.

Two-pound clamshells should be promoted for Memorial Day, graduation parties and summer events, according to the release.
