New Weather App Built Just For Farmers

January 26, 2016 09:56 AM

Mobile weather apps are a dime a dozen. But a new entry in the category, Agriculture Farming Weather, hopes to separate from the pack by appealing directly to farmers.

Developers say they can provide resources that are helpful to farmers through interactive mapping to show precipitation, droughts, temperatures, wind, severe weather and other useful information to better inform farmers of management and fieldwork decisions.

Layers include:

  • 3-to-14 day precipitation, temperature and soil outlooks
  • Surface wind and flooding hazards
  • Snow and freezing hazards
  • Cold and heat hazards
  • Wildfire and air quality hazards

Some users will find the pop-up ads distracting. The app is otherwise easy to navigate and free to download on Android and Apple devices.
