I was interested in your pick of the week a few days back on the 4440 -1982 with 3000 + hours that sold for $37,000. Last spring at a farm auction in SW Oklahoma I bought a 1982- 4440 supposedly one of the last 4440's with 2316 hours and a nearly new front end loader with rear duals that had been in a barn for 10 years for $38,500. It had been stored since the farmer had passed and the family did not want to sell his equipment. He had meticulous records of every 100 hour oil change and any maintenance that had been done at the John Deere dealership. We changed the fluids and added some Freon to the air conditioner and it works and sounds like a new one. Of course it may blow up tomorrow but I have another 4440 with over 11000 hours and a 4340 and a 4240 so I know these engines can go long hours. We put 200 hours on it since May, 2017 and so far so good. I thought it was too high at the time but don't know where I could get the equivalent for even close to that money. The loader would cost me $10-12,000 by itself. This tractor is slick as can be and I hope to keep it that way for 10 more years. Just an FYI item.
