December is a great time to start or update your family farm’s succession plan. Do so by attending one of the hands-on and interactive Farm Journal Legacy Project events. 

First-Ever Legacy Conference
Dec. 2-3 in Kansas City, Mo.

Attendees will dive deep into the logistics of creating a sound succession plan. The speakers will cover topics such as the elements of a succession plan, how to structure family meetings, estate tax strategies, who should get what and how to solve conflict. 

Speakers for the event include: Johnne Syverson, Transition Point Business Advisors; Dick Wittman, Wittman Consulting; Carolyn Rodenberg, Alternatives to Conflict; Paul Neiffer, CliftonLarsonAllen;  and Polly Dobbs, Starr Austen & Miller.

Legacy 101 Workshops

These workshops help families begin the process of transitioning their family farm to the next generation. In addition to the speakers below, each event will feature a local CPA and attorney.
