Steve Enger says he has two new planting practices for wheat that he plans to employ on his farm near Hatton, N.D. this coming season.
First, he says he plans to slow down his wheat planting process, and go from about 7 mph to about 5 mph in his fields.
Second, he plans to shallow up the planting depth he uses. "I’m going to plant at around a 1" depth this year, and evaluate how that does," he says.
