Poll: Should Researchers Look at Marijuana Byproducts in Pig Diet?

November 9, 2018 11:12 AM

Cannabis producers are looking for ways to utilize byproducts and bakery waste. Meanwhile, THC in the pig diet interests some because the appetite stimulation by marijuana could increase feed intake. What do you think?

According to Forbes, a growing majority of voters support legalizing marijuana. Earlier this week, voters in Michigan approved a ballot measure to legalize recreational use of marijuana on Tuesday, and two other states — Missouri and Utah — endorsed medical marijuana laws. Voters in North Dakota didn't partake, rejecting a measure to legalize recreational marijuana use.

Now 33 states have legalized medical marijuana, and some cannabis producers are looking for ways to utilize plant byproducts and bakery waste. At the same time, THC in the pig diet is of interest to some because the appetite stimulation by marijuana could increase feed intake in pigs. Should researchers look into the effect of pig performance and meat quality when fed cannabis byproducts?

Go take the poll and let us know what you think.
