Flashback from Incoming by John Phipps

The post of the week for me concerned China.  While it is hard to get our heads around the sheer size of the Chinese population, it is the density of the people in rural areas that is nearly incomprehensible for many Americans.  Check out the photos of what Chinese farm country is becoming.

It would appear the war ain't over for all the banks involved in agricultural lending.  In fact, regional banks could become a real problem for large operators.  As commenters noted, this trend could spread to relatively healthy smaller banks as well.

Finally, as gardens seem to be rushing to maturity for many of us, some helpful how-to on watermelon carving
