Pre-Emission Tractors are Hot at Auctions

September 19, 2016 02:15 PM

In 2011, the EPA issued new emission requirements that had to change for farm equipment. Auction prices have been impacted for machines built before the new standards.

Demand for pre-emission tractors with low hours are through the roof. One example is a farm auction in southwest Ohio for a 2002 John Deere 7810 with 1,623 hours selling for $90,000.

After a picture of this tractor was posted to Machinery Pete’s Facebook page, people from all over the world were commenting within a few hours. Several of those comments were about the engine and how the tractor was built before the 2011 requirements.

Check out machinerypete.com where there are more than 70 John Deere 7810s listed, all with less than 4,000 hours.
