Pro Farmer Reaction To May WASDE

May 11, 2018 07:45 AM

The USDA’s May World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) were released Thursday, projecting a large drop for world corn stocks in 2019 and a major bite out of the U.S. soybean carryout numbers.

Despite this news, the market didn’t have any strong reactions to the numbers some analysts are calling bullish.

For corn, the USDA is predicting 14 billion bushels of corn planted in 2017 with an average yield of 174 bushels.

Pro Farmer editor Brian Grete breaks down the numbers and shares his analysis of the report on AgDay above.
