Despite some tough weather conditions this past week, farmers are pushing forward in Iowa and Illinois with their corn and soybean harvests. In this week’s edition of the Boots In The Field Report, Ken Ferrie provides an update of how far along harvest is in both states.
As cooler temperatures are beginning to push soil temperatures lower, he encourages farmers to be a good steward of their fall nitrogen applications and not rush to get them done.
“Don’t be that guy. Stay put until soils cool down,” encourages Ferrie, Farm Journal Field Agronomist and owner of Crop-Tech, Inc.
