RFS Comment Period Ends Jan. 28

Farmers and others in the ag industry have less than a week to comment on the EPA's proposed cuts to the Renewable Fuels Standard. The 60-day comment period ends Jan. 28.

Last November, EPA proposed a renewable fuels quota of 15 billion to 15.52 billion gallons for 2014, a substantial cut from the previously set standard of 18.15 billion gallons. The standard applies to corn-based ethanol as well as biodiesel made from soybeans and cellulosic products, such as those made from corn stalks or woody waste.

To comment on the proposal, go to Regulations.gov and click the blue "Comment Now" button in the upper right corner.
