Rural Safety Important to Archer Daniels Midland

November 10, 2009 06:00 PM

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) renewed its commitment to the safety of children on and around farms through Farm Safety 4 Just Kids (FS4JK). Their continued contribution will support the organization's efforts to keep kids safe and healthy by strengthening and expanding FS4JK's Chapter network of volunteers throughout the United States and Canada.
"Farm Safety 4 Just Kids relies on the funding from agri-businesses like ADM to develop safety resources, in addition to sustaining the grassroots volunteer program,” said David Schweitz, executive director. "Our chapters have delivered more than 1,000 safety events to 86,000 youth and their families thanks to the generous donations from companies like ADM.”
The ADM funds will also support FS4JK's Outreach Coordinators in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri. The Outreach Coordinators conduct safety programs for youth and their families in or near communities where ADM plants are located.
"As one of the largest agricultural processors in the world, Archer Daniels Midland Company believes we have a responsibility to the communities in which we work and live,” said Mirinda Rothrock, ADM community engagement manager. "Farmers are our partners and we are proud to support Farm Safety 4 Just Kids and their mission to promote safe environments for farm families across the country.”
FS4JK relies on corporate funding from ag-businesses like ADM to develop up-to-date farm safety and health resources in addition to sustaining the grassroots volunteer program. Since 1987, FS4JK has grown to include a network of over 131 volunteer chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
