A two-page spread in the A Section of USA Today Friday announces the 2012 "Scholarship Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year" (SAMMY) winners—25 high school students from Maine to Washington and 23 states in between.
The high school seniors must have a minimum grade point of 3.0 and excel in sports. Winners were chosen by five nationally known athletes: Tennis pro Andy Roddick, 12-time Olympic swimming medalist Dara Torres, pro skateboarder Tony Hawk, L.A. Clippers basketball pro Chauncey Billups, and two-time Olympic softball medalist Jennie Finch.
