Select Sires Adds Heatime System to Its Select Reproductive Solutions Portfolio

November 6, 2012 02:00 AM

PLAIN CITY, Ohio—Select Sires and SCR Dairy Inc. have announced a new partnership to market the Heatime system for herd health management and heat detection, providing even more herd health monitoring options for dairy producers. Heatime features the only rumination monitoring system in the world in addition to heat detection for a comprehensive insight into cow health.
"We are excited about this new partnership with Select Sires to offer SCR technology through their sales and distribution channels," says Tom Breunig, U.S. general manager for SCR Dairy. "This expanded distribution channel offers SCR Dairy and Select Sires each a great opportunity to help dairy producers gain much-needed efficiencies by obtaining early indications of health and nutrition issues and by achieving more successful reproduction programs."
"It is Select Sires’ goal to provide our customer-owners with the most innovative herd management tools available," says Lyle Kruse, vice president, U.S. market development for Select Sires. "Heatime is a great complement to our Select Detect heat detection system."
Heatime combines one-of-a-kind rumination monitoring with accurate heat detection, allowing dairy producers unmatched access to information about cow health, nutrition, reproduction and comfort. This precise data allows for better individual and whole-herd management because health and reproductive problems are identified early and can be solved more quickly.
Heatime technology will be available for purchase through Select Sires representatives beginning today. For more information on Heatime, Select Detect and the entire portfolio of Select Reproductive Solutions (SRS), visit To learn more about the Heatime system and SCR Dairy Inc., visit
