Southeast Is Drought-Free While Dryness Creeps Into California

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows dryness in pockets in the South, West and four-corner region.  

It’s something Mike Hoffman, AgDay Meteorologist, talks about during his latest weather forecast.

“There really isn’t [that much drought] when you consider the lower 48 [states],” says Hoffman. “Usually, there’s a lot more drought than this. You go back one month and you’ll notice [how] California had none of the yellows and oranges [on the map to show drought].”

He says drought has diminished in other parts of the country over the last month.
