Soybean Export Inspections Match Lofty Expectations

Following are highlights of the Weekly Grain Export Inspections Report for the week ended Oct. 4, 2012:

Comments:

Inspections were about 2.8 million bu. below last week's tally and below expecations. Inspections are running 30.6% behind year-ago compared to 26.3% behind last week. USDA's 2012-13 export forecast is at 18.8% below the previous marketing year at 1.250 billion bushels.

Wheat

Comments:

Inspections were 11.342 million bu. below last week's tally and well below expectations. Inspections are running 9.3% below year-ago, compared to 9.8% behind last week. USDA's export forecast for the 2012-13 marketing year is at 1.200 billion bu., up 14.3% from the previous marketing year.

Comments:

Export inspections were 3.86 million bu. above last week's tally and within expectations. Inspections for the new marketing year are running 77.0% ahead of year-ago, compared to 67.9% ahead last week. USDA's 2012-13 export forecast is at 1.055 billion bu., down 22.4% from year-ago.
