Stalk Chopping Technology

February 14, 2009 07:35 AM

The Rota-Disc stalk chopping cornhead from Geringhoff eliminates the need for a pull-type stalk chopper. The stalks are cut at a 22 to 28 degree angle and are shredded into 3" to 6" long pieces. The roller has 15 self-sharpening discs for safe and effective destruction. Automatic hydraulic deck plates are regulated within the operator's cab. The system is unaffected by ground speed and low horsepower is used during operating. Machine sizes range from 6 rows to 24 rows.
