Statistics Canada has released its first survey-based crop estimates of the season, in which it pegs the all wheat crop at 27.013 MMT, in line with expectations, and canola at 15.41 MMT, which came in below expectations, but still a record. The agency notes, "Overall, weather conditions in the West in 2012 have been closer to normal, following two years of excess moisture conditions in parts of Manitoba and Saskatchewan."
