You may love tractors, but Machinery Pete lives and breathes them. He has been researching and analyzing machinery auction prices since 1989. His database totals close to 500,000 auction sale prices on roughly 70 categories of equipment, making it the most comprehensive and complete of its kind.
A lot of Machinery Pete’s analysis ends up on AgWeb, but he also posts a ton of his on-the-go auction photos and observations on Facebook. Here’s a sampling of some of these “Facebook finds” from the past week or so.
First up is this restored 1983 IHC 5488. It’s a part of a collector auction June 6. Pete predicts it will be an “amazing sale.”
This 1966 IHC 656 LP has 3,200 hours. It’s owned by an Iowa farm family.
A Saskatchewan farmer found this antique sitting in the corner of a farm he picked up. Readers suggest it is likely a McCormick-Deering 22-36.
This John Deere 4430 restoration project is the handiwork of Eric Shuster, Moweaqua, Ill. “This guy does amazing work,” Pete says. (To see more, visit www.restoreyourtractor.com.)
Last but certainly not least, this is a one-of-a-kind, 52-tractor procession to honor Illinois farmer Tom King:
RIP Tom King. I didn't personally know you, but this was a really cool last ride! 52 farm tractor procession.
