The Swiss dairy giant Emmi has purchased Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery, in Sebastopol, Calif.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that Emmi says it will retain all 75 employees at Redwood Hill and continue to operate the creamery at its current location.

Redwood Hill is credited with helping pioneer the market for goat milk and cheese in the United States. The 37-year-old company is a family-owned operation with 300 goats.

Emmi is the largest milk processor in Switzerland, reporting more than $3.3 billion in sales last year.

In addition to Redwood Hill, Emmi also acquired Green Valley Organics, which Redwood Hill Founder Jennifer Bice founded in 2010 and produces lactose-free cow dairy products.

The purchase price was not disclosed.
