An undeniable highlight of the National Farm Machinery is the annual accompanying Championship Tractor Pull. This year marks the 47th annual contest, which is sponsored by Syngenta and supporting sponsors Horsch and Dixie Chopper. It's America's oldest indoor tractor pull, with 70,000 fans expected to attend this year's event.
The tractor pull includes five total pulls with drivers to compete for the title of Grand Champion. The winners share nearly $250,000 in total prize money. Each year, more than 500 teams apply for only 180 spots. This year's list includes all reigning Grand Champions, and a record number of women drivers.
AgWeb talked to one of this year's competitors. This is what he had to say about the pull:
Here is a sample of this year's 180 competing tractors and trucks.
